“With over a year of preparation, a new face in the Macau Meeting, Incentives and Special Events Industry is born” said Todd Cai, President of the board of directors of the organization. MISE comes with the need to fulfil a gap in the market due to the fact that “there are many associations in Macau, but most of them are focused on exhibitions. There is no other local association that covers these particular segments, namely incentives and special events”, added Todd.

Importance of MICE in Macau

Late 2015, the Macau government announced that one of the biggest goals for the economy’s diversification would be to attract high level events and international trade markets and to push Macau to become a top choice destination. “MICE is a priority in the Market” said Henry Brockman, President of the Supervisory Board. “The Macau Government announced that MICE is a priority in the tourism strategy of Macau. We felt that this association will work to attract international events and promote the city as a destination through new networks,” added Henry.

A platform to support all professionals

“Another goal for this association is to create a universal platform accessible to all MICE professionals,” said Bruno Simões, Secretary of the Executive Board, who further stated that “this network is a way to connect all these professionals with an independent entity for the MICE sector, while it will not only support members’ activities, but also work as a platform for education.”
