Members of MISE – Macau, Meeting, Incentives and Special Events Association gathered today for its annual general assembly to elect a new executive and supervisory boards for a period of three years. The event took place at the Sheraton Grand Macao, one of the 25 members of the Association.

MISE association is the only association in Macao devoted to Special Events and Incentive Travel and uses English to embrace the international community working in Macao’s MICE industry.

President elect Bruno Simões, that has been working in the MICE industry and living in Macau for more than 17 years, stated that “MISE main objectives for this mandate are to improve Macau’s profile in the international markets and to help Macau’s MICE industry with education and lobby initiatives. Since the association was founded in 2016 that it embraces the Greater Bay Area “concept” by having members and holding events in neighboring markets like Hong Kong and Zhuhai.

International Guest Speaker Cindy Y. Lo presented case studies about design and winning strategies

Cindy Lo, whose family is originally from Hong Kong, is the President & Event Strategist of Red Velvet Events in the USA and presented today the topic “Case studies of designing corporate events & what are strategic ways to win new business.” The presentation was open to members and non-member and gathered more than 50 professionals and students from the tourism and events industry.

The presentation brought a great insight to the industry peers on how to attract more corporate clients to choose Macau for their meetings and conferences. This topic also showed what tools can be created with the aim to make Macau an internationally recognized MICE destination.

Cindy Lo visited Macao for the first time and stated that “Macau has done an impressive tourism awareness work. I tend to choose cities where international brands are present and Macao is another proof that mixing business with pleasure – now commonly referred to as “bleasure” – has a positive ROI for a city’s local economy.”
